As a seasoned traveling hair stylist, Damali imparts her knowledge in her publication, "Travel Notice: The Ultimate Guide to Becoming a Traveling Hair Stylist." Her expertise graces the pages of renowned magazines like Elle and Teen Vogue, while also contributing to catalog shoots for Urban Outfitters. Continuously evolving, Damali collaborates with emerging artists across states, ensuring her portfolio remains vibrant and current.

 

Damali's passion for hairstyling ignited at the age of 14, guided by the belief that "you never know where you’re going until you understand where you come from." Hailing from a small town and raised by a hardworking single mother, Damali showcased her talent early on by styling the hair of family, friends, and even teachers. Despite an initial inclination to pursue hair school after high school, her father encouraged her to pursue a college degree.

 

After obtaining a degree in Business Management from The University of South Florida, Damali pursued her true calling at Paul Mitchell the School. After three years of exploring various salons, she took a leap and established her first salon, The Extension Suite, in October 2014. This upscale salon specializes in hair extensions and custom-made wigs.

 

With years of industry insight, Damali identified a gap — many talented stylists lack the understanding of running a successful beauty business. In response, she launched "Stylists in Business," a venture offering business tools and coaching to empower hairstylists to thrive both professionally and personally.

 

Currently residing in Chicago, IL, with her loving husband Christopher Fils and son August, Damali embraces her downtime with a passion for reading, drawing, and exploring new destinations.
